New Gift: Dragon Statue Gift!

December 8, 2011 2 comments

Yesterday the CA Devs released a new gift: Dragon Statue Gift! The previous gift, Dragon Scroll Gift, is still available. It does not appear this gift knocked any off the gift list.

There is only 1 component to this gift. The Dragon Statue. This statue is a “pure alchemy” items, thus it can be used in the Goblin Emporium. Only 2 statues are required to perform alchemy. To combine the ingredients go to “Alchemy” > “Summons” and click “Combine” for “Summon Vermillion”.

Once the components are combined it summon Vermilion, the Tyrant! Be carefull!!! This does not combine into another item that does the summon. It actually summons Vermilion.

One sharp person from the CA Forum noticed that Vermilion has actually be in the game for a long time now:

New Gift: Mystery Faerie Gift! I know.. old news..

About a week ago the CA Devs released a new gift: Mystery Faerie Gift! The previous gift, Mystery Beast Gift, is still available. It does not appear this gift knocked any off the gift list.

There are 3 components to this gift. The components are called: Vine Root, Opulent Pearl, and Glowing Peridot. All three components are “pure alchemy” items, thus they can all be used in the Goblin Emporium. For this you need 3 Vine Roots, 1 Opulent Perls, and 2 Glowing Peridots to perform alchemy. To combine the ingredients go to “Alchemy” > “Summons” and click “Combine”.

Once the components are combined it creates the Faerie Band!

The Faerie Band will show up in your inventory in the town under Blacksmith. It has Attack of 6 and a Defense of 7. It has an attack power of 10.9 and defense power of 11.3. It is an item type of Amulet.

For a bonus this Amulet has the following special ability: +5 Energy to Aeris.

This the third item that can be equipped to Aeris. The other two items that equip to Aeris is the Elven Crown (Mystery Green Gift, discontinued) and the Aeris Dagger (Mystery Dagger Gift, still available).

This gives a fully leveled/equipped Aeris an attack of 10, defense of 9, bonus of +5 max energy, plus completely removing the bankers fee . For me the +5 energy does nothing. But for a new player this is a great way to get an extra 5 energy on level up if she is equipped first.

I have created one for equipping to Aeris. The rest will go to the goblin, as this item does nothing for my invasion army.

New Gift: Mystery Beast Gift!

June 29, 2011 4 comments

This evening the CA Devs released a new gift: Mystery Beast Gift! The previous gift, Mystery Shield Gift, is still available. It does not appear this gift knocked any off the gift list.

There are 3 components to this gift. The components are called: Chimera Claw, Chimera Horns, and Chimera Skull. All three components are “pure alchemy” items, thus they can all be used in the Goblin Emporium. Only 1 of each component is required to perform alchemy. To combine the ingredients go to “Alchemy” > “Summons” and click “Combine”.

Once the components are combined it summon Typhonus, the Chimera! Be carefull!!! This does not combine into another item that does the summon. It actually summons Typhonus.

I summoned one just to confirm it is a direct summon. I then put it in the public to see what will happen. This post has info about Typhonus. This post has info about the loot drops from Typhonus.

An apostrophe in your name can cause gifting issues

June 29, 2011 1 comment

This has been a known issue for a while, but thought I would post it here. If you have an apostrophe’ in your name the gifting pop-up will not appear after you click “send gifts” or “invite followers” or “invite army”. Below is a procedure that can be used in Chrome to get around this issue.

Before doing this procedure I would ensure you simply don’t have pop-ups blocked in your browser!!! This also includes any toolbars you have installed in your browser. It may not be the browser blocking pop-ups, but a toolbar!

The following workaround comes from this post in this thread of the CA forum (hat tip to oakley for putting it together!!)

This is at best a hack / temp solution for those unable to send out “follower invites” for those that have an apostrophe in their name.

Chrome:
a.) Navigate to the duel battle page / screen
b.) Right click on the “Invite Followers” button
c.) Select “Inspect Element”
d.) Locate the “onclick” event.
e.) Double click on the “onclick” event (or the function being called)
f.) Locate the apostrophe (in my case it was in my name … Joe O’Soap is …)
g.) Insert a “\” before the apostrophe (i.e Joe O\’Soap)
h.) Press / hit the enter key
i.) Re-click on the “Invite Followers” button

It should display a “popup” window now

This would have to be repeated every time you wish to send out a request, until CA caters for legal “special characters”.

If you’re doing send gifts or invite army just use that in place of the “invite followers” in the procedure above”.

I can find it, but I thought I read on a forum thread that someone tried to change their name to take out the apostrophe and that didn’t fix the problem.

(As a side note… thanks to this post I had to search for my Apostrophe CD from Frank Zappa.. Great Album!!!)

New Gift: Mystery Shield Gift (a different one)!

May 8, 2011 2 comments

On last Friday the CA devs released the new mystery gift: Mystery Shield Gift! The previous gift, Mystery Symbol Gift, is still available (and likely will continue to be). This is now the third gift they have released with the Mystery Shield name.

There are 3 components to this gift. The components are called: Bear Totem, Burning Topaz 1 of 2, and Burning Topaz 2 of 2. All three components are “pure alchemy” items, thus they can all be used in the Goblin Emporium. 2 of each component is required to perform alchemy. To combine the shards go to “Alchemy” > “Recipes” and click “Combine”.

Once the components are combined it will create the Shield of Sano!

The Shield of Sano will show up in your inventory in the town under Blacksmith. It has Attack of 8 and a Defense of 11. It has an attack power of 15.7 and defense power of 16.6. It is an item type of Shield (offhand). This is actually a pretty good shield for a gift, its stronger than the last mystery shield.

For a bonus this Shield has the following special ability: +3 Defense to Sano.

This the third item that can be equipped to Sano. The other two items that equip to Sano are Bonecrusher (Gehenna Drop) and the Lava Plate (Gehenna Drop).

This gives a fully leveled/equipped Araxis an attack of 8 and defense of 11, plus complete sub-quests 5% faster . These stats don’t really make Sano any more useful. But he is still one of my favorite generals to use. Its the only way to farm SP’s from sub-quests!!

I have created one for equipping to Sano. The rest will go to the goblin, as this item does nothing for my invasion army.

New Mystery Symbol Gift brings the Giants!

April 24, 2011 7 comments

Two days ago the CA devs released a new gift: Mystery Symbol Gift (been a busy weekend, falling behind)! The last gift was released just a week before as the Mystery Shield Gift. No gifts appear to be knocked off the list with this new gift.

This gift has been released alongside the new Giant monster battles. The gifts are actually four different symbols that work exactly like the Serpent Eggs. Each symbol will summon a different Giant. I will do a separate post looking at the loot available from the Giants. Here is an overview of the alchemy part:

Storm Symbol

Summon Kromash, the Storm Giant

Player level to summon: 81-121

Mountain Symbol

Summon Shardros, the Mountain Giant

Player level to summon: 121-299

Frost Symbol

Summon Glacius, the Frost Giant

Player level to summon: 121-299

Lava Symbol

Summon Magmos, the Lava Giant

Player level to summon: 300+

To summon you can either go to Keep > Alchemy > and click “Combine” for the monster you wish; or you can go to “Monsters” > “Summon Monsters” > and click “Summon” for the monster you wish to battle.

I will be doing a separate post looking at what you can get out of these. All I’ll say is I like this gift because I can use the components for trading with Kobo in the Emporium.

New Gift: Mystery Shield Gift!

April 15, 2011 2 comments

The CA devs have released the new mystery gift: Mystery Shield Gift! The last gift was the Mystery Tome Gift, which was still on the list. So be sure to cash in your eggs after collecting your gifts. There has not been an announcement yet for this gift.

There are 3 components to this gift. The components are called: Lava Core, Glowing Spessartite, and Fire Lizard Claw. All three components are “pure alchemy” items, thus they can all be used in the Goblin Emporium. 2 of each component is required to perform alchemy. To combine the shards go to “Alchemy” > “Recipes” and click “Combine”.

*** At the time of writing this post the third item Fire Lizard Claw is now showing up correctly in CA (multiple browsers).

Once the components are combined it will create the Conflagration Shield!

The Conflagration Shield will show up in your inventory in the town under Blacksmith. It has Attack of 7 and a Defense of 10. It has an attack power of 14 and defense power of 14.9. It is an item type of Shield (offhand). This has the same stats as the Shield of Artanis (from the Alpha Chest).

For a bonus this Shield has the following special ability: +1 Defense to Araxis.

This the third item that can be equipped to Araxis. The other two items that equip to Araxis are the Armageddon Pendant (Alpha Mephi Drop) and the Araxin Blade (Mystery Blade Gift).

This gives a fully leveled/equipped Araxis an attack of 20 and defense of 20, plus +10 Max Stamina and -25 Max Energy . Of the ‘free’ generals this is actually pretty good. For those without a large selection of generals you may want to put him on your War Council.

I have created one for equipping to Araxis. The rest will go to the goblin, as this item does nothing for my invasion army.
